Melissa K. Chlarson


About Melissa

Melissa Chlarson was born and raised in Grant County, Washington and is a graduate of Moses Lake High School and Gonzaga University where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Melissa went on to attend law school at Gonzaga University School of Law and received her Juris Doctor degree.

Upon passing the Washington State Bar Examination, Melissa returned to Moses Lake where she began her legal career working in private practice. In 2006, she was appointed by the Grant County Superior Court Judges to serve as the Court Commissioner for Grant County Superior Court. As commissioner, Melissa presided over domestic, paternity and dependency matters.

After serving as Commissioner for eight years, Melissa returned to private practice with a focus primarily in Family Law.

Melissa is the mother of two very active children and spends most of her free time supporting their school and extra-curricular activities.

Professional & Community Involvement

Melissa is often found out in the community as she is the manager for her son’s soccer team and a supporter of school athletics. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Grant County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Melissa also serves as a Commissioner pro tem for Grant County Superior Court.

Admitted Into Practice

Melissa was admitted to practice in 2002.
